Time Well Spent – A personal guide to define and live your fullest life. This guide and process was created out of my desire to be more intentional with my time. I am blessed to have a full life. My days are filled with family, my career, friends and my community. However, I still felt I could be more intentional with my time – do more meaningful things, engage in activities and actions that brought me joy, that filled my cup.
I think we can all relate to having good intentions. Send the birthday card, call the sick friend, read the book, schedule to coffee date. And then, just like that we missed the birthday, our friend is better (thankfully), you don’t even remember the book you wanted to read and you guessed it, the coffee date still hasn’t been scheduled.
For whatever reason, prioritizing my time with the people and activities that made my heart happy wasn’t happening, at least not as much as I knew it could. The follow-through and intention were missing.
I was certainly familiar with setting goals, but that alone didn’t seem to be getting me where I wanted to be – more intentional. There was something missing. And then I looked at it differently, I looked at myself differently, I looked at all of it differently.
“We are at our best when we’re living from the inside out. By that I mean, living on purpose in our pursuits rather than letting the world decide for us.” This quote from Candance Cameron Bure comes from her book 100 Days of Joy and Strength.
As Candance put it, I changed my perspective and looked at living from the inside out. This change of perspective is the core of the Time Well Spent process. I began by thinking about all roles and positions I hold and what I truly wanted to achieve from those commitments.
As I worked through the various iterations of the process it was important to me that the process be simple, intuitive and manageable. Each step is intention (imagine that!) so that the outcomes are intentional as well. The goal is to provide a user-friendly tool to help define and live your fullest life. A life with intention and a happy heart.
